Over the next year, the staff of Underscar are going to let you know how they enjoy exploring the Lake District by allowing you into some of the things they enjoy doing in the days away from the office. In this post, we are going to take a look at how Mary Palmer would explore the Lake District National Park.
The different pace of life where people have time to stop and say hello whilst enjoying the stunning scenery from the tops of the fells to the lowlands of the lakes.
A gentle stroll around Buttermere with a stop off for coffee and a cake en-route. Or a visit to Lingholme Estate in Portinscale for a walk through their gardens and a coffee and lunch in their lovely café.
The open top bus (in the summer months preferably!!) from Keswick through Thirlmere, Grasmere, Rydal, Ambleside & Windermere. The most scenic road in the UK and with a day ticket you can get on and off, at will, to visit any of the towns en-route. Even a spot of retail therapy shopping at Lakeland when you get to Windermere to bring home with you.
A trip around one of the Lakes – Derwentwater does a circular lake tour with a hop on and off ticket so that you can incorporate a walk up Catbells and then get the launch back to Keswick for a well-earned drink.
Anywhere in the springtime on a sunny day surrounded by newborn lambs and daffodils – perfect!!!
